Samsung released this little beauty! The SGH i400 smartphone! At S60 summit in Madrid, Spain, Samsung announced the SGH-i400 smartphone running on Symbian S60 operating system. It is Samsung’s second new S60 phone (after the i520) as earlier models based on this OS didn’t reach a commercial availability (i.e. D720 and D730).
The GPRS/EDGE tri-band handset comes with a 262k color, 2.3″ QVGA TFT display a 2 megapixel camera, music key, stereo speakers. Other features include Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and USB 2.0.
Even though, we already got used to Samsungs S60 Sliders, this one has the Symbian OS trademark in the upper-left corner. It is well equipped with a 2 megapixel camera. Hey! Make sure you don’t miss out on taking really cool photos even if you don’t own a genuine digital camera. Didn’t you get bored of navigating through your whole menu just to try and find an MP3?
Well, they have solved your problem by adding up a special MP3 button. It is also equipped with A2DP, Bluetooth and MicroSD expansion for your pleasure and comfort. This beauty gives you full support for Internet Browsing (it would have been weird if you didn’t) and you are provided with a 2.3 inch display. Now, you won’t have to wear your glasses just to make a simple phone-call.
The Samsung i400 is perfect for users who want to have all of the advanced features of a samsung smartphone in a slim and stylish design. The new smartphone i400 is based on Symbian OS and S60 which offer extensive language supports, enhanced download applications and multitasking features.
With Symbian S60, the Samsung i400 allows its users to install programs on their mobile phones just like PCs. The stylish Bluetooth connectivity for active business users is also available in the phone.
S.P. Yoon, Vice President of Samsung’s Telecommunications Network Business said, “We are happy to introduce our new Symbian based SGH i400 smartphone which follows the earlier release of SGH-i520, the first Symbian OS smartphone. We can provide a convenient mobile phone experience for our users by adopting Symbian S60.” He added, “Samsung is excited to present new smart phones to our customers around the world, and we will continue to reveal new models to fit our customers’ needs.”
The i400 is nothing special in terms of specifications, being tri-band GSM with QVGA display and 2-megapixel camera but is well looking smartphone with curved lines, rounded design, and 15.8mm (0.6 inches) thickness. But still it stands first in the list of phone and gadget lovers.
Samsung i400 will be released in Russia from July and in other European countries later.
